Most of the waterfalls in the Kannall Vale Nature Reserve are man made and were used to turn waterwheels. The site was leased by Cornwall Wildlife Trust in 1985 for development as a nature reserve. Kennall Vale represents the best-preserved gunpowder works in south-west Britain. Kannell Vale is a real hidden gem.
