St Ives has been an important Harbour town for centuries. Not only has St Ives been a fishing town, but was also an important port for exporting Tin/Copper from the mines in the area prior to the collapse of the mining industry.
St Ives would also have been used to bring coal in from Wales to feed the boilers in the mines.
