At Lanterdan quarry there is a tall very distinctive, pinnacle of rock which was left behind after the commercial quarrying. The slate in the pinnacle was not of a sufficiently good quality. Situated between Vean Hole and Hole Beach, at the northern end of Trebarwith Strand, Lanterdan Slate Quarry was once one of the biggest in North Cornwall. Today Lanterdan Quarry is owned by the National Trust.
