This small boat was well and truly aground in the mud as there was very little water left in the river. In the 1841 census a miller was recorded at the mill house on the estate of Sir Samuel T Spry of Place. But by 1891 no further mention was made of the milling industry and a fisherman occupied the nearby cottage.
