Looking up river at Boscastle. Boscastle is where the river Valency flows into the historic harbour. A lot of work has been done to get Boscastle back on its feet following the flood of the 16th August 2004. On this day an estimated 20cm of rain fell causing the river to burst its banks and flood the village.

Thanks to a massive effort by the emergency services, locals and visitors no loss of life occurred on this day.
