It was easier to photograph the streets at St Breward than other villages as there was not a lot of traffic whizzing by. Cars did not appear in this village until the 1930's and when the roads needed repairing in various places throughout St Breward men would sit with sacking over their shoulder and also around their waists breaking up stones into small pieces for use by the road menders.
