Part of the Arthurian legend that surrounds Dozmary Pool concerns the Lady of the Lake whose job is to protect the sword known as Excalibur. As with any legend there are different accounts of events. Even the Lady of the Lake's name is disagreed upon. In some myths she is called Nimue while others call her Niamh and there are also various reports of her carrying away the mortally wounded King Arthur
