Carn Galver Hill is fabled to be the home of a giant. He was a kindly giant and it is said that he protected the villagers of Zennor and Morvah from attack by other giants and received gifts of the occasional sheep or goat in return. He was instrumental in shaping the landscape as he played quoits with granite boulders and rocked himself to sleep on a giant logan stone.
