Passmore Edwards called his first 3 public buildings in Cornwall "The Three Sisters".this was later increased to become the "Seven Sisters in Stone". By 1900 there were twenty buildings within Cornwall bearing his name. Liskeard Free Library was built right in the centre of the town, using Bath Stone and the local Polyphant stone.
