A little Egret standing beside one of the boats mored on the river at Lerryn. The Latin name for this bird is Egretta garzetta and they belong to the family of bitterns and herons. The stunning bird is a more common sight in recent years and fascinating to watch it appears to do a little dance on the mud. We thought they might be stirring up worms but the RSPB website says they eat fish.
