The two rocks in this photograph seem to be called either Carter's Rocks or Gull Rocks As the name of the bay suggest the place was the site of a Holy Well which is in fact in a cave and only accessible at low tide. Apparently mothers crossed the sands of Holywell Bay to immerse their ailing children in the healing water. It is a good idea to approach the cave with caution at low tide and watch out for signs of the tide turning and taking a strong torch is recommended.
