The Old Bridge at Wadebridge is said to be built on wool. This pub in Wadebridge is actually called "the Bridge on Wool". No one is actually sure if this does mean that the bridge is physically built on sacks of wool as a foundation. It is much more likely that the bridge was built on the profits from the wool trade
