About Port Quin Cornwall.

Port Quin is located 5 miles north of Wadebridge, it is a very tiny hamlet with a small shingle cove and this is all that remain today of a once busy quay. Port Quin was a hive of activity until the 19th century when the railways took over the slate trade. For decades the village was deserted and rumours spread that the entire population had vanished in a storm.
After the demise of the slate trade Port Quin was for a long time a deserted village until the National Trust helped to restore the cottages. Today there is a seasonal community of holiday makers who wish to enjoy the peace and quiet of this forgotten hamlet.
There is a good sized car park and a few holiday cottages and anyone wanting a tranquil moment away from it all will find the area just what they are searching for.
