About: This natural shingle bar separates Loe Pool from the sea. It is still possible to see where the bar was broken to allow excess water to flow from the pool following flooding at Helston. A tunnel was created to allow the pool to drain continually this......

About: It is impossible to imagine now but Helston was originally a harbour port hundreds of years ago. It is separated from the sea now but the freshwater Loe Pool and the sand bar called Loe Bar.
