About: Lamorna harbour itself was built to export granite from the nearby quarries. The granite extracted from Lamorna was used for the Thames Embankment and in the construction of many lighthouses.

About: Lamorna is located four miles south west of Penzance off the B3315 the road to this charming place is fairly narrow and in the busy summer months it can be difficult to get to. With walks and scenery like this the journey is well worth the effort.

About: A large wave breaking against the granite cliffs that characterise this part of Cornwall. This granite would once have brought prosperity to Lamorna Cove with its quarries. Stone from this cove was used on the Thames Embankment.

About: With the heavy rain at the weekend the river that flows through the Lamorna Valley was quite a torrent. The low light has created a longer exposure smoothing the rushing water. This set of waterfalls is located near the public conveniences.
