About: Kynance cove is the site of the largest outcrop of serpentine rock. This lovely rock has been used to make any number of decorative items and is characterised by a dark appearance mottled with green red and white.

About: This photograph shows a very good example of a raised beach at the far end of Towan Beach. Raised beaches are also called wave cut platforms and are left above the shore line by a relative fall in the sea level.

About: These wavy pattern in the rocks at Towan Beach fascinated us and deserved a photograph. Apparently they are formed by a rapid variation in the dip of cleavage planes that give the slate and sandstones a wavy appearance.
