About: Very often the best views of a seaside place can be taken by climbing up to get an almost aerial view of the place. The steep rise of the streets around Mevagissey are tiring on the legs but the resultant panoramas make it worth the effort.

About: This pretty fishing village is named after the Welsh and Irish saints of St Meva and St Issey. Mevagissey's inner harbour dates from the 1770's and many of the buildings around this area date from the 18th century.

About: Early evening at Portreath harbour on a windy day when the sea was fairly rough shows how calm the inner harbour can be. The harbour at Portreath began construction in about 1760 and in 1827 it was described as perhaps Cornwall's most important port.......
