About: This is an ideal spot for a swim in the tranquil water but in the main this area is used for water sports. Canoeing is very popular and many of the cars we saw in the car park had small crafts including canoes on their roof-racks.

About: It must be very unusual to find a beach with a view like the one at Par Sands. The very large expanse of sand that is exposed at low tide is very popular with all beach enthusiasts but at this time of the year wellington boots seemed to be the best ......

Tall Chimneys

About: From the beach at Par Sands there is a view across to the tall slender chimneys of the china clay processing plant. In the 1840's a harbour was built at Par as part of the expansion of the china clay industry, terminals were also erected in the 1960'......

About: Approaching evening at Trebarwith Strand there was a strange light even though the weather had not been very good that day. The crumbling cliffs that back this cove were once quarried for slate.

Rocks at Bude

About: The name Bude was at one time Bude Haven and it has been put forward that this is a corruption of the name Bede Haven which means "Harbour of the holy men." Theories are therefore around that Bude might have been a landing place for early Christians......
