About: This sign warning cars to "Beware of Waves" at Portmellon looks pretty ominous. On the day we visited the tide was out and flat calm but the conditions must be quite different at times to warrant such a sign.

About: The Rumps Point is the name given to a tiny peninsula projecting from the northern corner of Pentire head on the North Cornwall coast. This rugged headland is constantly battered by Atlantic gales but the walks are superb.
